Delivery & Unloading
Aden Brook offers you three options for delivery.
- Full Service Delivery: We highly recommend our full service delivery to customers located in NY, CT, NJ, VT, KY (Lexington area) and FL (Wellington area). Within these areas we have professional hay stacking crews and our own company trucks/drivers who are experts in accessing your farm no matter how tight it is and stacking your hay neatly in your hay loft or storage area. When you are a full service delivery customer you never need to worry about things like how we will get in your driveway, how your help will manage unloading or when the hay truck will show up. We take care of it all leaving you free to do what you do best!
The cost of full service delivery is figured in to your hay or shavings price. It generally only costs around $12 per ton extra. It is well worth it when you consider all the headaches you can have when trying to unload on your own.
2. Drop Trailers: For customers who have storage issues or high volume situations we offer 28’ and 53’ drop trailers. Drop trailers provide dry storage for the hay or shavings while you use it directly out of the trailer. However, you must have adequate space to park it and in a good location where our trucks can switch the trailers without trouble. We only offer drop trailers to customers who will be giving us ongoing orders at least once per month. If you keep the trailer longer than 1 month without ordering again we may have to charge a rental fee. 28’ “pup” trailers hold approximately 12 ton of hay or 720 shavings. 53’ van trailers hold approximately 23 ton of hay or 1275 shavings.
3. Freight Truck Direct Delivery: We only recommend this type of delivery to customers who have an easily accessibl earea and have experience with accepting and unloading a large delivery from freight companies. In many areas outside of NY, CT, NJ, VT, KY, OH, PA, DE, TN, VA and FL this is the only option we have for delivery. With a freight truck delivery the driver will not assist with unloading. You will be fully responsible for unloading the truck and if it takes more than 2 hours to unload trucking companies generally start charging an hourly detention fee. You are also responsible if the driver cannot access your driveway. In this situation you may have to unload out on the road and shuttle all the hay in on a smaller truck. This can be very costly and labor intensive. If you are in our full service area we definitely recommend you leave this part up to us.
